If Allah only blesses you with mercy and wishes, then you accept his existence. If Allah imposes on you what you perceive as suffering, they Allah has no right to do that, and you erase him for not matching the image you have about how Allah should or should not be. The devil was watching in anger as Ayyub endured through the process. He never accepted the order of Allah when hew did not like it or understand the reason behind it. Now he was watching a lesson given to him on how a human with ability to accept or deny Allah’s test would act. Now he saw how a creation of Allah can achieve success and pass the test of Allah: You do not get to tell Allah what is good and what is evil, what is right and what is wrong, or what he should or should not do. Iblis (the evil) tried in every possible way to persuade Ayyub from weathering the difficult circumstances and from being persistent in his patience, but with no success.

This life is temporary, and it is meant for testing human ability to hold on to their faith and submission to the creator. The real life is after death. Only then the successful ones will earn their rewards. The losing ones will get what they deserve: The consequences of being arrogant with their creator.
